Church’s Texas Chicken® Named a Most Profitable Franchise of 2024 by Franchise Business Review

Church’s® is One of 75 Franchises Recognized for Strong Financial Performance and High Franchisee Satisfaction Based on a Survey of Nearly 35,000 Franchise Owners

ATLANTA– October 2, 2024 – Church’s Texas Chicken® was identified by Franchise Business Review as one of 75 franchise brands to be named and recognized as an award-winning franchise in its 2024 report on the Most Profitable Franchises. Church’s Texas Chicken® is one of the largest quick-service chicken restaurant chains in the world with more than 1,500 locations in 23 countries. The brand specializes in Original and Spicy Chicken freshly prepared throughout the day in small batches that are hand-battered and double-breaded, tenders, sandwiches, freshly baked Honey-Butter Biscuits™, and classic, home-style sides all for a great value.

Franchise Business Review, a franchise market research firm that performs independent surveys of franchisee satisfaction, provides the only rankings of franchises based solely on actual franchisee satisfaction and performance. Franchise Business Review publishes its rankings of top franchises semi-annually in its Guide to Today’s Top Franchises, as well as industry reports throughout the year that highlight research on the top franchises in specific sectors.

Church’s® franchisees were surveyed on 33 benchmark questions about their experience and satisfaction regarding critical areas of their franchise systems, including training & support, operations, franchisor/franchisee relations, and financial opportunity.
Church’s® survey data showed the following:

  • Overall
    • Church’s® Franchisee Satisfaction Index (FSI) is 70, which is higher than the industry benchmark of 67 for the Food & Beverage sector
    • Overall satisfaction among Church’s® franchisees saw a significant improvement from 2022 data with an increase of 13%
      • The five areas where franchisees gave the highest ratings include:
        • Enjoy the business FSI: 88
        • Enjoy the organization FSI: 86
        • Would do it again FSI: 83
        • Active participant FSI: 82
        • Recommend the company FSI: 82
      • Financial
        • When compared to other franchise brands, Church’s® franchisees rate their “financial picture” +17% higher and their “long-term growth opportunity” +11% higher. There has also been significant improvement year-over-year in both areas
      • Training & Support
        • Overall, the training and support section improved significantly year-over-year by +30%; specifically, with “marketing and promotional programs” +30% and “system-wide communications” +39%
        • 74% of franchisees rated the “effective use of technology” above average; exceeding the benchmark by +2% and improving +26% over 2022 scores

To identify the award-winning companies on the list of this year’s Most Profitable Franchises, Franchise Business Review analyzed data from nearly 35,000 franchise owners representing 365 brands regarding their overall satisfaction with their brand and their likelihood to recommend it to others. Other factors include the annual income of franchise owners and the minimum startup capital requirement.
